LETU Meeting

Add to Your Calendar: 10/10/2013 10/10/2013 America/Chicago LETU Meeting

Hello homeschooling parents,

LeTourneau University is interested in hearing from the homeschooling committee here in East Texas. Dr. Terry Cruse is the new Vice President of Enrollment at LETU.  Dr. Cruse has worked most recently at Missouri Baptist University, where he worked very closely with the homeschool community. He would like to do the same here in the Longview area.

Dr. Cruse would like to hear from you as a homeschooling parent. It doesn’t matter whether you are thinking just dual credit. He is interested in learning from all homeschool parents and how LETU can serve you educationally. Some examples may be things like, can the LETU library serve you in any way? Did you know LETU chapels are available for you? And more.

One area of course is dual credit. Did you know this year, over 100 dual credit students are enrolled, and LeTourneau would like to add to this number by developing closer ties to the homeschooling group and by building a two-way communication flow.

Other examples could include offering LETU space for mom’s meetings, offering transcript help, and offering more assistance and information to make the dual credit path less bumpy.

Dr. Cruse would like to offer a dinner at LETU for homeschooling parents to have a time to discuss how LETU can serve the homeschool community both here in Longview and around East Texas.  This dinner event is scheduled for Thursday evening, October 10 at LETU (details will follow). Please RSVP to [email protected].

If you have a prior commitment and wish that you could attend the meeting, please also e-mail Matthew Henry at [email protected] and he will put you on an e-mail list.   On the October 10th meeting, LETU will provide dinner for you and your spouse.

If you need more information about anything, please contact Matthew Henry at the e-address above.  Note that Matthew and Amy Henry are homeschooling parents, and Matthew Henry is currently the Dean of Innovative Education.
